On the auspicious day of May 13th, 2023, we celebrated a momentous occasion in the history of the Muhammadia Ghosia Islamic Association Ltd. (MGIAL) – the opening ceremony of the Muhammadia Ghousia Islamic Community Centre and the MGIAL Islamic Centre.
By the grace of Allah, we were blessed with a day filled with joy, unity, and gratitude. The Secretary for Security, Mr. Chris Teng, honored us with his presence as the chief guest, bringing his support and goodwill to our mission. His involvement not only underscores the importance of our centres to the community, but it also symbolizes the strong relationships we’ve nurtured with government bodies.
We were equally fortunate to have the Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Mr. Ricky CHU, in attendance. His presence was a testament to our shared commitment towards promoting inclusivity, understanding, and cooperation among all members of our diverse community.
Joining them were several esteemed guests, including the Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Bilal Ahmed Butt, various other Consul Generals and Deputy Consul Generals, eminent Islamic scholars, heads of numerous organizations, representatives from the education department, members of the business community, and people from all walks of life across the region. Their participation enriched the ceremony and demonstrated the wide-ranging support our centres have garnered.
Every one of these individuals brought with them a spirit of unity, harmony, and community—values that are deeply embedded in the ethos of our centres. The occasion was not just a celebration of the physical spaces we inaugurated, but a manifestation of our shared dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and spiritually nurturing environment for all.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended the event, and to all those who contributed their time, resources, and efforts towards the acquisition and renovation of these centres. The success of this event, and indeed the success of our mission, owes much to your unwavering support and belief in our cause.
As we reflect on the memorable inauguration day, we are filled with anticipation for the journey ahead. We look forward to serving our community, building bridges among different communities, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported.
